After a sold-out run last December, The Cherry is thrilled to bring back its family favorite this holiday season. Adapted from the beloved Hans Christian Andersen classic, The Snow Queen tells the story of Greta, a brave young girl on a mission to rescue her best friend Kai from the clutches of the evil Queen, encountering along the way a friendly reindeer, a chatty raven, a feisty robber girl, and a host of other curious characters.

This year we’re adding even more magic with wonderful new songs and all-new puppetry based on marvelous original drawings by Ithaca fantasy illustrator Rachel Terwilliger (rachelillustrates.com).

The Cherry’s version of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale (which inspired Disney’s Frozen) was developed last year over the course of nine months by members of the Cherry Arts company, resulting in an innovative adaptation like none before, featuring original music by Paul Leschen, and lyrics by Cornell University professor Lyrae Van Clief-Stefanon.

Adapted and directed by Samuel Buggeln

Featuring: Josh Altenburg, Helen T. Clark, Jeffrey Guyton*, Camilla Schade, Megan Schmidt, Erica Steinhagen*, Lucia Vecchio, Joshua Wilde (*member, AEA)

Thrilling for adults, appropriate for ages 7 and up!
