Lucifer Landing is a two-part project created by choreographer and artist Jonathan Gonzalez, scheduled to premiere in Spring 2019 at MoMA PS1 and Abrons Arts Center in NYC. In the project a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of designers, musicians, and performers will create both an exhibition performance and a five-movement opera dealing with the intersections of black life and climate change.
From January 9th to 14th, 2019, Gonzalez and performers will be in residence at the Cherry Artspace, developing and refining the piece before its MoMA and Abrons début. The residency will culminate with an open-rehearsal work-in-progress preview of the piece, followed by a discussion with the audience.
