Founded in 2015, The Cherry Arts is a new non-profit theatre company producing work in Ithaca, NY and occasionally in Brooklyn.
The Cherry is the home of a collective of Ithaca-area professional theatre artists that creates work that is radically local, radically global, and formally innovative. The company’s sliding scale ticket policy ensures that all members of the community have access to the theatre we create.
In addition to creating work, the company is currently building The Cherry Artspace, a new performance venue which will be located at 102 Cherry Street on the banks of the Cayuga Inlet on Ithaca’s West End. The Artspace will house local theatre, dance, music, puppetry, visual arts, and other exceptional works from Ithaca-area artists and beyond.
The Cherry Arts, Inc. is a non-profit organization, and we are currently in the process of a fundraising campaign to help us acquire all the things needed to make a bare new building into an Artspace! Please click here to make a donation.
Under Artistic Director Samuel Buggeln, The Cherry Artspace hosts an evolving ensemble of Ithaca’s most talented and dynamic professional theatre artists to make work that is:
Formally innovative & seriously fresh!
